Muna and Tariq are Palestinian and Canadian.
Muna and Tariq are Palestinian and Canadian. Istanbul became the second home for both of them, this is where their families met eachother and where their wedding took place. Swisshotel the Bosphorus was their choice of venue for their wedding. The venue was decorated with elegant and stylish flowers, and was not over the top. The tables were carefully prepared, the atmosphere was simple and warm. The ceremony, which started calmly, was replaced by tears of joy with the sentences Muna wrote for Tarıq. I quote these words from Muna’s wedding speech: “My left eye sees less than the other. My right eye is his arm, it takes most of the workload, it will take care of him. I have two hands, my right hand is more functional. they are equal, they do not dominate each other, they carry all the burden together, they run to everything together. Everyone is actually alone in a relationship. I am alone, too, but I am as eager as my right eye to shoulder most of the burden without making a sound. I’m ready to look equal. To be equal, to be a couple, to walk in the same direction, to run into every fight together.”
They even made me cry. I wanted to immortalise these moments for them. Let’s have a look….
