Although their roots are here in Istanbul, Muhammed and Müjde are actually from Toronto. When they said they want Istanbul-themed photographs, I understood their longing for their homeland. Please allow me to tell you a little bit about them and add new things to what you’ve heard about love-togetherness. I think they may be rare examples of ‘uniting as one while being a couple’. No, I’m not exaggerating. This happens to very few people. Being a couple; it’s not being married, being lovers or falling in love! It’s much more than that. If I remember correctly, there was a sentence attributed to Mevlana, although they’re probably the words of a new generation internet poet. It was a sentence in the form of “man comes to this world as half, and finds his other half in the world”. This is one such example… When I shot a 4-hour Istanbul shoot with Muhammed and Müjde who were in black, I felt how well they complemented each other. In addition, the fact that they spent their childhood together made them very good friends. They giggled throughout the whole shoot. For the first time, I took a member of my family, my brother, with me during the shoot. I remember him saying this couple is ‘to be admired’. I think he is more interested in marriage after seeing Mohammed and Müjde. Without further ado, I leave you with these fresh photos…
